Parsmont Fall Hike: Mont Pinacle + Mont-Orford

Fall combo: Mont Pinacle + Mont-Orford

Hiking, a lake, mountain heights, fall colours and sweeping views.

This Saturday we start a full fall day beside Lake Lyster: first up to the heights of Mont Pinacle for the famous view over the lake and the colourful forests of the region, then on to Mont-Orford to spend the second half of the day in one of Quebec's best-known fall destinations.

Schedule

• Saturday, October 10, 2026
• Leaving Montreal: 7 AM

First stop: Mont Pinacle

• Arrival and getting ready: about 9:30 AM
• Hike starts: about 9:30
• Back from the trail: about 12 noon

The Mont Pinacle round trip is about 6 to 7 km, with a beautiful view over Lake Lyster and the surrounding mountains.

Important: access to the Mont Pinacle trail must be booked online in advance, and each time slot has limited capacity.

Leaving for Mont-Orford: about 12 noon

Second stop: Mont-Orford

• Arrival, lunch and rest: about 1 to 2 PM
• Hike starts: about 2 PM
• End of the programme: about 5 to 5:30 PM
• Back toward Montreal: after the programme

At Mont-Orford you can join the hike according to your fitness and interest, or simply enjoy the grounds and the fall views.

For those who prefer not to hike, the Hybrid Lift (gondola or chairlift) takes you up to the heights of Mont-Orford.

The gondola runs from 9 AM; the last ride up is at 3:45 PM and the last ride down from the summit at 4:45 PM. Capacity is limited, so buying tickets online in advance is recommended.

The Mont-Orford hiking trails are free; on Flambée des couleurs days, however, parking is charged separately.

Not only for hikers

Companions who do not plan to hike are welcome to come along with the group.

At Mont Pinacle they can enjoy the area around Lake Lyster and the surrounding nature; at Mont-Orford they can take the gondola up and watch the fall from above.

What to bring

• Proper hiking shoes
• Enough water
• Lunch and snacks
• Warm, windproof clothing
• A light backpack
