A fall Sunday at Owl's Head + Mont SUTTON

Two mountains, two different views and a full day among the fall colours of southern Quebec.

This Sunday we start with the spectacular view from Owl's Head over Lake Memphremagog, then head to Mont SUTTON, where colourful forests, mountain heights and the lively fall festival shape the second half of our day.

Schedule

• Sunday, October 11, 2026
• Leaving Montreal: 7 AM

First stop: Owl's Head

• Hike starts: about 9:30 AM
• End of the hike and getting ready to leave: about 12:30 to 1 PM
• Leaving for Mont SUTTON: about 1 PM

Second stop: Mont SUTTON

• Arrival, lunch and rest: about 1:45 PM
• Hike starts: about 2:15 PM
• End of the programme and back toward Montreal: about 5:30 to 6 PM

Not only for hikers

Companions who do not plan to hike can still join the day, enjoy the grounds and the fall scenery, and, if they wish, take the chairlift to see the mountains from above.

At Owl's Head, hiking on the resort trails is free. At Mont SUTTON, walking the ski runs is free too; some trails of the Sutton nature park may need a separate ticket.

The chairlift is charged separately. At Mont SUTTON the chairlift runs until 5 PM on Sunday, so anyone planning to use it should time their way down accordingly.

What to bring

• Proper hiking shoes
• Enough water
• Lunch and snacks
• Warm, windproof clothing
• A light backpack
